Our Expanding Universe
A Century of American Science
Carnegie Institution for Science

Picture

The exhibition chronicles the groundbreaking work accomplished by Carnegie laboratories as the frontiers of science expanded through the decades. From the exploration of the earth's magnetism, desert ecology, archeology, genetics and cell biology to the building of the world's leading astronomical observatories, the show offers fascinating glimpses into the lives of science giants Barbara McClintock, George Ellery Hale, Edwin Hubble, Alfred Kidder, Vera Rubin, —and the legendary Vannevar Bush, Institution President from 1939-1955.
